It's done...

This is so hard.
Very, very hard.

It did not help that his first comment was: They are so adorable!  How can you let them go?

Of course, I was heartened that he found my birdie babies adorable.  They are!  And he immediately apologized and said that it was very brave of me to recognize that I could not really keep up with their care.  I know.  I know that they are going to the best home possible.  And I know that my giving him the cage and carrier and playpen and all of their food and stuff made it possible for him to have the birds, since vet techs are not paid all that much.  This is a good thing...for all involved.

It just hurts.
Muchly.

Here is my coping mechanism for the night.  After all, when you are sad, it is always best to simply go for the chocolate.  I bought these yesterday after setting up a time for him to come fetch my babies.

Already the house is so very empty.

Already....

You did the right thing and birds and new owner are going to love each other. Way to be the means by which the Lord cared for these little "sparrows."

Now, I still think you need to do a little rearranging of the bookshelves in your livingroom so that there isn't an empty space where their cage used to be, but it's all a little bit different.

Aw, Myrtle, I'm sorry. That must have been very hard. But it does sound like you did the right thing for all involved. Praying the hole in your heart closes up quickly.

You did the right thing. The birdies are going to a good home.

Thank you, Sandra, Cheryl, and Becky. Two Ding Dongs, two Dr Peppers, and a 1/3 of a bottle of lemon oil later (I polished all the furniture in the living room), I am through this day. I truly appreciate your encouragement! :)

Now I understand your reference to the ding dongs! Not that it matters what I think, but I believe you did the right thing. Doubly right, cause you didn't give them to me!
